hello

I’m an English teacher turned journalist who couldn’t stay quiet after watching my students go without while others had more than enough. That experience lit a fire in me, and I’ve been chasing stories that expose injustice and spark change ever since.

I’ve covered a rising youth political movement for Rolling Stone, interviewed the DEA about drug trafficking at the U.S.-Mexico border, and investigated how crisis pregnancy centers blur the lines between ideology and medical care. My reporting at the Arizona Center for Investigative Reporting on Arizona’s social equity cannabis program helped prompt a legislative effort to return marijuana licenses to the communities they were meant for.

I’m currently the news editor at Miami New Times, helping my team explore the grit and glamor of “Magic City.”

At the heart of my work is a deep belief in equity, truth-telling, and using journalism to light up a small corner of the world — one story at a time.
